On October 12, 2025, the city transformed into an expansive open-air stadium for the annual Architecture Marathon, drawing thousands of participants to the historic brutalist districts of Rotterdam. Unlike standard sports events, this race was intentionally mapped to highlight the city's radical post-war reconstruction and contemporary skyline. Runners set off from the iconic Erasmus Bridge at sunrise, charting a path through the dense high-rises of the Kop van Zuid and navigating the structural geometry of the famous Cube Houses.
